I am a scenic and nature photographer living in the little historic mountain railroad town of Todd, N.C. I'm originally from the small furniture town of Thomasville, NC, some of you might know it as the "Big Chair" city, as there is a 2 story chair standing in the "middle" of downtown, I always wanted to climb in that thing and sit down. Alas, no ladder. I'm sure some enterprising beer-fueled young folk have done this very thing, I moved away before I became one of those beer-fueled young folk. Again, alas...not for missing being "beer fueled" but missing the chair adventure. I suppose you would get arrested anyway. Thomasville furniture, a name that once was synonymous with world reknowned quality is produced no more. It was extremely sad to me the last time I visited T-Ville to drive by the factories and see them standing silent and wasting. Major, major "alas," the heartbeat of my little hometown has been stilled. I have come full circle it seems, 290 degrees at the minimum, moving to Charlotte as a teenager, then Atlanta to build career and family, finally back to my beloved state of North Carolina, specifically to the mountains of NC. In my mind, the beauty here is unparalleled and comparable to any location in the U.S. that I've seen. With that in mind, I share my scenic and nature photography of the "high country" of North Carolina, principally shot in Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties, with prints from other locales included from areas that drew my interest. I hope you much enjoy viewing them, bear in mind that all prints will be for sale as soon as I have set-up that portion of my website. Please express interest in any prints on the form below, be sure and leave me your email address so I can respond, then click inside the small blank box at the very bottom. (it says submit in it but the text is black and I can't change it) Thank you so much for stopping by, and until next visit, view our world with wonder, there is much to be taken in. Adieu.....Stephen
